The world of education is greatly changing by developments in information and communications technologies. These technologies enable the transition from a traditional knowledge transfer model to a collaborative system facilitating autonomy and involvement.
This new approach helps learners to improve their knowledge and develop the necessary skills to succeed in the “cognitive society”. To achieve this goal, today’s educational programs, require technological systems able to meet our persistent need for openness and participation, in addition to new evolutionary teaching models that are able to attract a large audience, with varied interests and that is distributed worldwide. These new models should also offer an innovative curriculum that reflects the radical transformation of the information and communications technologies (ICT).
Stakeholders in the education world are then forced to reconsider the teaching and learning tools that are currently facing an explosion of quantitative and qualitative data. This reconsideration goes through the use of the major changes of the web. This evolution is mainly marked by the transition from the web of information to the web of things that renews the issues of the information and communication sciences through the densification in a world
“Hyper connected “. This massive interconnection evolves very rapidly towards the Internet of Things (Internet of Things , IoT ) bringing together people, processes and data. The IoT offers more relevant and efficient interconnections to an Smart Learning Environment (SLE) beyond the classroom.
